Åsmarka is the name of an area in the northern parts of Ringsaker in Hedmark county, Norway.
There are about 250 homes in this area. The main industry is cattles and sheeps. Average height is 1300 feet above sea level, overlooking the lake Næra.
During the last 20 years a lot of houses has been built in this area. There are plans for building still more houses.
Together with the local parish committee I have started collecting family information to build a genealogy database for Åsmarka this is a complicated and time consuming task.
We start with people living here today, and plan to trace as many as possible of the persons that have lived here.
This database will be updated continuously and above 14500 people is collected. In the future it is possible that this information will be published in a book.
The database will not be available on Internet, but information from the database can be obtained from me.
